SkyLIFE in Cobra Gold 2020

Our SkyLIFE team landed in Thailand on March 4th in preparation of Cobra Gold 2020 (CG2020), a Royal Thai and U.S. Armed Forces co-sponsored Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Joint Theater Security Cooperation (JTSC) exercise, held annually in the Kingdom of Thailand. It is among the largest multinational military exercises in which the United States participates with allied and partner nations. One of the many goals of CG20 was to strengthen HA/DR (Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief) preparedness throughout the Asia-Pacific Region. In support of this goal, SkyLIFE was invited to feature our SkyPACKTM delivery system. It is among the largest multinational military exercises in which the United States participates with allied and partner nations. One of the many goals of CG20 was to strengthen HA/DR (Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief) preparedness throughout the Asia-Pacific Region. In support of this goal, SkyLIFE was invited to feature 5,000 SkyPACKTM delivery system.

Each SkyPACK carries up to 10oz of aid. Aid can vary based on need, but packs typically carry water, food and medicine. SkyPACK are designed to deliver individually portioned aid directly to disaster victims until traditional transportation infrastructure is up and running. A single large fixed-wing plane can drop over 200,000 SkyPACK in one flyover, but they can be discharged from virtually any aircraft. Using this unique technology does not require any existing ground infrastructure or personnel, so receiving life-sustaining aid is just a matter of looking up.
